How to Maximize your Fat Transfer results

Many clients who get a fat transfer usually end up with different results…Why?

Well the answer is simple… your final results depend largely on what you do both before and after your procedure. Those who eat healthy, exercise and follow the necessary guidelines by the plastic surgeon almost always see better results than those who don’t.

For a fat transfer procedure, it is very important to follow these guidelines to get the best out of your investment.

Fat Transfer is simply the removal of excess fat from unwanted areas, to a more desirable location. This technique is commonly used for Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL), and some other cosmetic procedures.

After a fat transfer is done, only a portion of the transferred fat survives in its new location, and the percentage that survives depends mainly on a number of factors:

  • the volume of fat transferred,
  • how tight and elastic the skin in that area is,
  • nutrition
  • most importantly, how the patient cares for the transferred fat during recovery.

One thing to note with a Fat Transfer procedure is that your actions during recovery significantly impact how much of the fat survives. The best way to maximize your results is to FEED YOUR FAT!

Feed Your Fat means you will need to consume extra calories to support your new fat cells. Your body needs these extra calories to sustain the extra work of providing the new fat cells with blood supply and also recovering from the surgery.

Eat nutrient-rich foods to provide your body with all the vitamins and minerals needed for recovery. Eat a lot of fruits (grape, watermelon, plum, apple); vegetables (lettuce, cabbage, pumpkin, potato); whole grains (oat, millet, corn. brown rice) and healthy proteins (poultry, fish, seafood, dairy products).

Also include foods with healthy fats, such as salmon, avocados, walnuts, extra virgin olive oil, and coconut oil. Drink at least 1-2 liters of water per day.  Try to avoid carbonated beverages, excessive caffeine, sugar, and salt.

While everyone will respond differently to a fat transfer, you can maximize your results by carefully following these guidelines, or simply SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION with a plastic surgeon for more information.
